This Indenture made the 21st Day of March in the year of your Lord one thousand Eight hundred & Fourteen between Charles Pipkin of the state of North Carolina & County of Wayne of the one part & Frederick Grantham of the County & State aforesd of the other part, Witnesseth that I the sd Charles Pipkin for & in consideration of the sume of Thirty Dollars to me in hand paid by the sd Frederick Grantham before signing & Delivering of these presents, the receipt & payment is hereby acknowledged that I the sd Charles Pipkin have bargained & sold unto him the sd Frederick Grantham his heirs & assigns forever a Certain piece or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County aforesd & bounded as followeth, Viz, Beginning at a Blackjack down the sd Frederick Granthams corner & runs S 63 145 pole to a pine in sd Grantham line then with his line N 20 E 44 pole to a large Hickory his corner near his House then with his other line N 80 W 147 pole to the first station Containing Twenty acres which said piece or parcel of land with all & every of the members & appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaing I the sd Charles Pipkin do by these presents bind myself my Heirs Exctr admst & assignes the Warrant & forever defend from or against the Lawful Claim or claims of any manner of person or persons whatsoever unto him the sd Frederick Grantham his heirs Exetr admst & assigns forever in Witness whereof I the sd Charles Pipkin hath hereunto set my hand & affixed my seal the day & year above written.
