From Mrs. Estelle Kennedy, a graddaughter of Abraham Bruce Pipkin, a great- granddaughter of John Fletcher Pipkin and a great-great-granddaughter of Rev. Lewis Pipkin.

STEPHEN Pipkin

Born August 2, 1757 in Sampson County, NC (Dobbs County), died in Conecuh County, AL at age of about 83 years. He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, serving under General Francis Marion. He and his family moved to Darlington District, SC in the fall of 1799 or 1800, about fifteen miles from Big Pedee river. In the fall of 1810, they moved to Pulaski County, GA, twenty miles from Big Okmulge River and about thirty miles from Macon. About 1818, he, his wife and sons, Lewis, Martin, David and daughter Mary moved to Conecuh County, AL.

About 1846 or 1850 (it was earlier, 1841) Lewis, father of John Fletcher Pipkin, and Martin and David, his brothers, with their families moved to Ouachita County, near Camden, AR where they lived and died at a good old age.

Stephen Pipkin was married to Amelia Thompson who was born in NC and died in Conecuh County, AL at age of about 85 years. She was of Welsh descent.

Children born to Stephen Pipkin and his wife, Amelia Thompson:

1. Reverend Barnabus Pipkin, born in Wayne Co., NC, near Bass Ferry on Neuse River, February 27, 1795, died May 11, 1878.

2. Reverend Stephen Pipkin, Jr., died soon after reaching 21 years of age. He had just been ordained a Methodist minister.

3. Reverend Lewis Pipkin, born 1777 in NC. He was a Methodist preacher and was noted far and wide as a most devout man. He lived to a good old age and died and was buried in AR in 1865. He was married to Pheraby Beasley. (We have Marh Phoebe, and Faribey)

4. David Pipkin, lived to a good old age and died in Ouachita County, near Camden, AR.

5. Martin (Luther) Pipkin, born 1798 in NC, lived to a good old age and died in Ouachita County near Camden, AR.

6. Reverend Richard Pipkin, died in early manhood in AL. He was a young Methodist preacher. Did not marry, died in 1834.

7. Sophia Pipkin Howell, lived and died in Darlington District, SC. Husband's name was Ira. One of their sons, Ira died in Webster County, MS about 1902.

8. Susanna Pipkin, married to a Howell

9. Mary Pipkin Callihan, lived and died near Lockhart, TX.

10. Nancy Pipkin Dixon, died in about 1868 in St. Helena Parish, LA.

1840 Mar 19 - Now at Brother John Pipkin's, etc.

1840 May 14 - Now at Lewis Pipkin's, etc.

1840 May 18 - Now at Bro. Martin Pipkin's May 18th. I endeavoured to preach his mother's funeral who died the 5 of March 1840.

1840 Jun 12 - Now at Bro. Martin Pipkin's, etc.

1840 Jul 9 - Now at Stephen Pipkin's, etc.

1840 Oct 28 - Commenced a meeting in vicinity of Rev. Pipkin's and David Stott's.

1840 Oct 29 - Now at Marshall Stott's.
