Obituary - Pipkin, Sunday, Oklahoman, Okla City, Okla 29 Mar 1992 Maurice L. "Bud" Pipkin passed away Friday, March 27, 1992 in Oklahoma City. He was the son of Walter Lee Pipkin and Kittie Ann Elizabeth Sliger Pipkin. Mr. Pipkin born November 11, 1915 in Chickasha, OK. He moved with his family to Oklahoma City in 1922 and graduated from Classen High School in 1935. He studied photography and journalism at Oklahoma City University and Oklahoma State University, Stillwater. In 1939 he married Edwina Wright of Oklahoma City. He served in World War II in Saipan. After serving in the war, he opened his first photograph business, Edmar Studio, in Wichita, Kansas. In 1947 he returned to Oklahoma City with his family and opened "Pipkin Photo Service." The name was later changed to "Pipkin Cameras & Video." Besides his family, "Bud's" main interest was sailing and photography. He served as Commodore for Oklahoma City Boat Club, and was co-founder and Commodore of Caney Creek Yacht Club. Survived by his wife, Edwina of the home, 2 sons, Dr. Walter of Oklahoma City and David of Taipei, Taiwan; 2 daughters, Doris Ewing, Santa Barbara, CA, Peggy Pipkin Grace, Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren, M.L. "Maury" Pipkin, Leigh Ann Pipkin, Allison Pipkin, Shannon Isley, Nancy Isley, Peri and Clayton Pipkin, Kelly Zaikas, Melanie Grace, Kevin Grace; 2 sisters, Wilma Morris and husband Mac of San Antonio, TX, and Virginia Staley of Enid, OK; 1 brother, Jack V. Pipkin of LaCanada, CA. [Maurice LeRoy Pipkin was the grandson of Elisha Madison Pipkin, son of Abraham McEnnons Pipkin. He, his brother Jack V.
