Pipkins, age 73, who lived all her life but 15 years in Polk & Greene Co, died at her old home in Willard, MO this morning. She was born near Moorisville. Was left a widow in 1909 when her husband Samuel J. Pipkin died. He had been a farmer near Willard. Belonged to Methodist Church and buried Westly Cemetery. Survived by two sons: W.H. Pipkin of Elwood, MO and Dr. W.D. Pipkin of Monroe City; one sister, Mrs. Mary Watson of Willard and one brother, Benjamin Bond of Morrisville. --------------------------------------------------------- From the "Springfield Leader", Feb 26, 1930, pg 2 obit Mrs (Vinora Ann) V.A. Pipkin, 72, died 25th at home of son George in K.C., to be buried in Clear Creek Cemetery. She was pioneer resident of Greene Co. Survived by 5 sons: Tom of Sapulpa, OK, Earl & George of Kansas City, Lote of Fort Scott, KS, Link of Pratt, KA. She was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church and Trinity Rebekah Lodge. --------------------------------------------------------- From "Springfield Republican", April 16, 1910, pg 1 Jesse Pipkin died yesterday morning at his home near Fair Grove where he had lived for 50 years, due to blood poisioning. He was born in Tenn, Aug 1836, and came with his parents to Springfield when he was six. Family settled at Fair Grove. He was a farmer. Funeral from Methodist Church of Fair Grove, burial Bass Cemetery. Survived by 9 children: Will Pipkin of OK, George Pipkin of K.C., Mrs. Fannie Hayden of Mead, KS, Mrs. Janie Mullen, Golden City, Dr. A.L. Pipkin of Springfield, Charles Pipkin and Lee Pipkin of Los Angles, James Pipkin of Redwood City, CA, and Edward Pipkin of Fair Grove. A brother, John Pipkin lives on Walnut Street in Springfield and another is Shedd Pipkin of KS. A sister Mrs. Ola Pipkin lives in Strafford.
