Maury County, TN - Enos Pipkin Deed, 1838

State of Tennessee

To all to whom these presents shall come, greetings. Know ye, that in
consideration of part of Certificate N. 7126, dated the 31st day of
August 1836, issued by the Register of West Tennessee to Green Grimes
for 75 acres and entered on the 19th day of November 1838 by N.5.

There is granted by the said State of Tennessee unto Enos Pipkin 
assignee of the said Green Grimes, a certain tract or parcel of land
containing ninteen and one half acre by ___ bearing date the 27th day
or December 1838, lying in Maury County on the South side of Duck 
River and south of the Reservation line in Rango 3, Section 5 and 
bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at the Ell corner of entry N. 372 
for 478 acres in the name of Jonathan Bullock and others, on a stake, 
with bunch of dogwood pointers; Thence with the line of said entry North 
forty four poles to a stake of two white oaks on the bank of Duck River; 
Thence up the River with the meanders of the South bank (the stationary
lines bearing S. 71 1/2 E. 80 poles; east 30 poles; south 3 poles;
east 60 poles) to a hickory, buck and dogwood pointers; Thence south
ten poles to an Ash and buckberry, with white ash pointers; Thence
with the line of an old survey south 86 degrees west one hundred and
seventy poles to the beginning.
With the ___ and appertenances to have and to hold the said tract or
parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said Enos Pipkin, and his
heirs forever. In witness whereof Newton Cannon Governor of the State
of Tennessee hath hereunto set his hand and caused the great seal of
the State to be affixed at Nashville on the fourth day of February in 
the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine and of
the Independence of the United States the Sixty-third.
