Gibson County, TN - Will of Enos Pipkin, 1854 ~~~~~~~~~~ State of Tennessee Gibson County January 1st, 1854, I Enos Pipkin of the county and state aforesaid being of sound mind though weak in body and knowing that it is appointed unto man once to die have made and appointed and do by these make and appoint this my last will and testament Item first - I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Pipkin all of my property during her natural life Item second - At the death of beloved wife all my property to be sold and equally distributed amongst all my legal heirs Item third - I appoint my beloved son John P. Pipkin the Executor of this my last will and testament and to attend to paying the debts, making collections and doing all other business of the Estate Signed, Sealed and delivered Enos Pipkin {Seal} in the presence of William Smith & John D. Davidson John P. Pipkin Exr to Enos Pipkin, Recd Know all men by these presents that we John P. Pipkin, Eli Boyett, A. Rosson and E.D. Pipkin are held and firmly bound unto the State of Tennessee in __ and full sum of Twelve Thousand dollars for the payment of which will and truly be made, we and each of us bind ourselves, our heirs executors and administrators jointly severally and firmly by these presents, sealed with our seals and dated this 6th day of Febuary 1854. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound John P. Pipkin has this day taken upon himself the burden and execution of the will of Enos Pipkin deceased. Now if the said John P. Pipkin shall will and truly execute the same by paying first the debts of the said deceased and then the legacies contained in the said will as far as the assets may come into hand will execute and the law charge him and make a full and perfect inventory of all the goods and chattels of the deceased and return the same in the time prescribed by law, then this obilgation to be void otherwise to remain in full force ___ Test John P.
