Charles, Bessie & Martha C. Pipkin Edwards, Martha, daughter of William J. Pipkin, ca. 1910
Contributed by Maureen Klose email@example.com: Martha "Mattie" Edwards nee Pipkin moved to St. Louis with her husband, Charles, not long after this picture was taken. Mattie, who died in 1957, had three daughters, Bessie, Effie and Ethel Estelle. (Estelle is my wife's maternal grandmother.) Mattie used to talk ugly about Yankees, according to family stories; and considering that her father, William J. Pipkin, was a Confederate veteran of some distinction, it makes sense. Charles Edwards was a railroad employee both in Nashville and later in St. Louis.
