State of North Carolina Pitt County To all whom these presents shall come greeting I Lewis Pipkin Planter of the State and County aforesaid send greeting Know that I Lewis Pipkin for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred pounds silver money for him in hand and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents by Jesse Duning of the county and state aforesaid the receipt whereof I do acknowledge myself to be fully satisfied therewith and contented have given and sold and deliveredconveyed and conformed and set over and by these presents do fully and absolutely give grant bargain sell convey conform and set over unto the said Jesse Duning his heirs and assigns for ever a tract or parcell of land containing by estimation one hundred and fifty acres lying and being on the south side of Little Contentnea and in the county and state aforesaid being part of deed for six hundred and ninety acres of land granted by Thomas Child Esq agent to and for the Right Honroble Earl Granville the first day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred eighty eight.
The said land beginneth as followeth, At a pine Stansels upper corner originally thence along the line till it shall make one hundred and fifty acres of land thence east to the Creek thence up the Creek to the upper end the said Stansels land then west to a pine the said Stanels corner tree. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land together with all and singular the houses buildings gardens orchards woods and wood timber and all other appurtenances whatsoever to said land belonging or in any ways appertaining unto the said Jesse Duning his hers and assigns for ever and I the said Lewis Pipkin for myself my heirs Exr's adminr's do covenant grant promise and agree to and with the said Jesse Duning his heirs and assigns in manner and form followith that the said Lewis Pipkin my heirs executors and administrators the above bargained premises and appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof to the said Jesse Duning his heirs Exr's and Adm'r and assigns against the lawfull claim of any person or persons whatsoever and will warrant and defend the said land in Witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this first day of February 1788.
