John Moye to John Pipkin, 1793

This indenture made this 5th day of October 1793 between John Moye of the one part and John Pipkins of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the full and just sum of two hundred pounds lawful money to me in hand paid by said John Pipkins the receipt whereof is acknowledged that I the said John Moye am fully paid for two hundred acres of land lying and being in the State of No. Carolina and county of Pitt and in the fork of Little Contentnea Creek.

Beginning at a pine said John Moyes, Solomon Albersons and John Whites corner and thence running south with said John Moye and Jesse Downing line one hundred and seventy eight pole to a sassafras stake in the center of several marked trees thence west one hundred and seventy eight poles to a small pine thence north one hundred and seventy eight poles to said John Whites and John Moyes line being a small maple thence east with said line to the first station being by estimation two hundred acres be the same more or less which said two hundred acres of land and premises with all and singular the profits therefrom ensuing I the said John Moye for myself my heirs Exer’s Admr’s do for ever warrant and defend unto him the said John Pipkin his heirs Exer’s Admr’s for ever in testimony whereof I have heretunto set my hand and fixed my seal the day and year first above written.
