John Pipkin to Solomon Alberson, 1794

This Indenture made the 27th day of January one thousand seven hundred and ninety four between John Pipkin of the one part and Solomon Alberson of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the full and just sum of ninety seven pounds lawfull money to me in hand paid by the said Solomon Alberson the receipt whereof I acknowledge that I the said John Pipkin am fully paid for ninety seven acres of land lying and being in the State of North Carolina and county of Pitt and in the fork of Little Contentney Creek.

Beginning at a maple in Whites Branch Whites line, thence south one hundred and thirty eight pole to a water oak in a small branch north 54 degrees east down the branch one hundred and thirty four pole to a post oak, thence east ninety six pole to a small sweet gum in the center of several marked trees, thence north fifty six pole the said Albersons and Jesse Dunnings corner, thence west with Whites line one hundred and seventy eight pole to the beginning being part of two hundred acres of land the sd Pipkin purchased from John Moy Esq'r being by estimation ninety seven acres which said land and premises with all and singular the profits there from arising. I the said John Pipkin for myself my heirs executors administrators do for ever warrant and defend unto him the said Solomon Alberson his heirs ex'rs administrators for ever in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixed my seal the day and year first above written in presents of us.
