She had spent 61 days at Seton in the last 6 months, re-entering August 28 after celebrating her 83rd birthday with the family at my home on August 27. Though her health steadily declined and she had 24 hour nursing and oxygen at home, her spirits stayed good and she never failed to be brave. Her funeral service was a glorius celebration. In attendance were 40 relatives including cousins and in-laws representing Clifts, Dunns and Prices from all over Texas and Oklahoma. The minister, whose parents were my mother's and father's dear friends from the '20s in Ft. Smith, quoted from an appropriate passage, "I neither fear to die nor refuse to live." Though bereaved, we are grateful that she is at peace. Before is is the task of placing some of her research papers. If you would have requests of any, feel free to write me. We shall keep many but not all. Your friendship over the years has been a treasure to my mother. Please excuse the Xeroxed letter. Most sincerely, Nancy Price Bowman
