Jesse Pipkin to James Moye Deed, 1793

This indenture made this 14th May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three between Jesse Pipkin of Pitt County of the one part and James Moye of the same county of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jesse Pipkin in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds currency to him in hand paid by the said James Moye hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell to him the said James Moye his heirs and assigns for ever a certain tract or parcel of landcontaining two hundred and seventy acres be the same more or less situate in Pitt County on the north side of Middle Swamp and the south side Contentnea Creek bounded as followeth.

Beginning at a pine Benjamin Moyes corner and runs west with Moyes line 160 pole to a pine thence north 160 pole to Abraham Joyners line at a pine thence east with said Abraham Joyners line 164 pole a white oak his corner in Mark Moores line thence south 9 east 40 pole to Benjamin Jordans line a pine thence south 20 degrees west160 pole to a litewood stump John Moys corner thence 4 pole a white oak Moys line and thence north to the beginning to have and to hold the said land and premises with all the appertenances thereunto belonging to him the said James Moye his heirs Exr's Admr's and assigns forever and the said Jesse Pipkin for myself my heirs Executors and Administrators and do covenant promise and agree to and with him the said James Moye his heirs and assigns that before the ensealing and delivery of the above bargained presents that I am the true and lawfull owner and I the said Jesse Pipkin do lend myself my heirs and assigns will warrant and forever defend the right and title of the above mentioned land and premises to him the said Moye with all the privileges and singular the timbers litewood and every kind of profit thereuntobelonging and likewise I do warrant and defend the right and title of the above land and litewood timbers and so forth from the lawfull claim or claims of any manner persons. In witness whereof I have set my hand andfixed my seal the day and year above written.
